One Art

One Art
by: Elizabeth Bishop

The art of losing isn’t hard to master;
so many things seem filled with the intent
to be lost that their loss is no disaster,

Lose something every day. Accept the fluster
of lost door keys, the hour badly spent.
The art of losing isn’t hard to master.

Then practice losing farther, losing faster:
places, and names, and where it was you meant
to travel. None of these will bring disaster.

I lost my mother’s watch. And look! my last, or
next-to-last, of three beloved houses went.
The art of losing isn’t hard to master.

I lost two cities, lovely ones. And, vaster,
some realms I owned, two rivers, a continent.
I miss them, but it wasn’t a disaster.

– Even losing you (the joking voice, a gesture
I love) I shan’t have lied. It’s evident
the art of losing’s not too hard to master
though it may look like (Write it!) a disaster.

An Oppurtunity from LinkFromBlog Market Place

Buy blog reviews

Opportunities sometimes come at the most unexpected time and astounding way.  I took time bloghopping and making friends with my co-bloggers, as part of my leisure time during my day off.  I also happened to check on one of the comments that a blogger made about my blogsite.  Then it hit me.  I found a blessing, another opportunity for me to earn more.

This gracious blogger cited that LinkFromBlog market place was able to extend him great opportunities of  blog advertising and double his earnings.  Who wouldn’t be intrigued about this?   I guess I won’t just be sitting here, having the fancy of it and getting myself perplexed about the whole thing.  For the benefit of my doubt, and of course, for the benefit of my pocket, I might as well give it a shot.  Cheers to a bigger profit!!!

THE NOVEMBER 29-30 NURSE LICENSURE EXAMINATION

Today is Sunday, a day where  most people are supposedly asleep peacefully and soundly, and probably snoring until late in the morning.  But what made this day different is that as early as before sunrise, all nursing students who are would-be takers of the Nursing Board Exam were already up and about.  The day had finally come when they have to apply what they had learned for the past four months of intensive review.

Taking the licensure exam doesn't only entail knowledge and analysis.  In addition to that, one's readiness plays a big role in the confidence of the examinee, thus, helping him or her to focus on the exam better and contend  distractions.  Most importantly, seeking Divine Intervention before, during, and after the board exam is the only key to the path that each  of them wants to partake, especially passing the board exam and obtaining their license.

The Knock-out Controversy!

Tell-tales about actresses getting involved with married actors are not uncommon.  We hear them now and then on showbiz talk shows.  But what made it sound scandalous about the Krista RanilloPacman rumors is that we were made to believe that Krista Ranillo came from a respectable family.  Her father, Matt Ranillo, one of the famous actors in 1990’s, was known to be a well-mannered and wholesome Filipino actor.  This is maybe the reason why a lot of people reacted and got on the buzz when hearsays about the so-called relationship of Krista and Pacman were rendered out in the open.  In one of the showbiz news I have seen, Krista, after being gossiped of getting involved with the Filipino boxing champ, was in grave depression because of the allegations about her.  Even her father defended her.  Speculations have also been revealed that Matt Ranillo is running for politics and that he needs Manny’s help and support.

I was not far from believing that Krista is somewhat innocent, and was just a victim of heartless blabbermouth, until I saw the news last night.  As shown and stated, pictures of Krista and Manny were publicized, but they claimed that they weren’t together in Baguio when Manny had his training for his big fight in Las Vegas.  Nevertheless, another set of pictures were disclosed that they were caught together in a restaurant with Krista’s father, and the people that they were with earlier, wearing the same clothes seen in the first pictures exposed. Can we still say that this is just coincidence? Who could be telling the truth?

Want to spend quality family time with your folks at home without wearing out your budget?  Apart from watching movies, it is the bunch of mouth-watering food served in restaurants and a gulp of hot or cold frothy coffee that we most look forward to.  Without a question, dining outside our homes gives us a feeling of indulgence.  Probably because we get away with washing our dishes, setting the table and creating a cozy ambiance, and most of all, digging our minds on what to cook.  Cooking itself is no joke.  Seeing the reaction on their faces whether they enjoy or reject what you have prepared is nerve-racking.

How do we get to the bottom of this dilemma?   I have come across great deals at ShopWiki.  In here, we find all the necessities and luxuries of life.  Just like what we need during our special days with our families, a comprehensive cookbook is perfect to serve them a sumptuous meal, and a set of attractive dinnerware is just right to stir their appetite.  What about the blender that I need for an exceptional dessert such as my favorite ice cream coffee?  And to end this special day just right, I should get a grip of the last thing that I need a dishwasherDon’t bother getting anxious, it’s easy to grab all the appliances that you must have to come up with the ideal meal that you have imagined.   At ShopWiki, you can find all these things that you are looking for.

Direct TV experience.

I was lazily lying on my bed and popping my last piece of junk food, after watching the big fight of Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto, when my telephone rang, and startled me.  It happened to be my cousin who is in California, euphoric by the victory of Pacquiao over Cotto.   She frenziedly recounted how the fight had been, and how much she loves watching boxing match at home, but getting the attributes of watching it live.  It’s a good thing that she is a subscriber of  Direct TV.  What more could she ask for?  Being able to watch stand-up fights with popular contenders like Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto at home with full satisfaction is a lot of savings.

From what I have heard from my relatives abroad, DirectTV is one of the most impressive and prestigious cable providers in California.  It has been granted several awards for residential cable and satellite TV.  Talking about customer satisfaction, Direct TV takes the lead.    In fact, as stated by my cousin, based on her experience, she considers Direct TV as the top player and indisputably outweighs its competitors.

Without a doubt, I would be anticipating my relatives who are also steadfast subscribers of Directv to absolutely sound like my cousin, wholly satisfied and in high spirits.  For momentous fights, events, movies, and the likes, only DirecTV can provide them the most gratifying television and audio services that they dare not miss.

Spending Holidays with My Mom in Heaven

I used to be an enthusiastic freak every time Christmas and New Year’s Eve is fast approaching.  The holidays just can’t seem to cease me from fantasizing lip-smacking foods, spine-tingling Christmas presents, mood-boosting Christmas songs, exquisitely designed lights and decors, and the much awaited family gathering.  Who wouldn’t be?

But I guess this holiday season would somehow be different.  Everything else is at hand, except for my dear mom.   Whenever it crosses my mind that she won’t be spending the holidays with us, it saddens me.  But as I come to think of it, do I really have a reason to be sad, or do I have much more reason to be happy and pleased?  Why? It’s because I know she will be spending her holidays up there in heaven.  That’s something else for her.  Up there, the food is twice as enticing as what we have here on earth, Christmas songs and presents are much more enchanting and wonderful.

It may seem heartbreaking that she can’t be with us especially on these special moments, but having that thought to ponder alleviates our grief.  I know that we should all be happy for her, since she’s now in a harmonious place that she had ever dreamed of.

Death

A lot of people would say that there are only two certain and permanent things in this world – death and tax.  I would say that I would rather deal with tax over and over again…than death, especially of a love one.

Just recently, I lost my principal source of strength – my mother.  She died of lung cancer.  For months, she had endured the tormenting pain inside her, gasping for breath even with a slight movement.  I would rather say that she had endured the illness, than suffered,” because I know that she is a strong woman and she will surpass whatever it is that comes her way, even death.  My mother showed strength and survival until her last breath.  She waited that all her love ones were gathered around, and savored her precious time here on earth praying with her family, letting us feel how much she loves us.   Even in death, she still became a perfect example of how struggles should be dealt with, as well as how to live life with courage and strength.

I’m quite sure she’s up above.  She passed away peacefully and happily.  She may not be here physically, but I know that she continuously looks after us.  Those people who have heard of her death would utter much about her kindness, how she had helped a lot of people in need, how she had fought for other people’s rightsStill, she’s a great model of love and strength. Indeed, my mother has lived her life to the fullest.
